Those DMBLive albums are great. A lot of them are old school concerts (93-98) and some of them include ‘never before released’ versions of songs, etc. I highly recommend them.

And yes, it IS a travesty Blue Water was never recorded. Just a hauntingly beautiful song. LOVE IT.

I have everything DMB has released except for the DMBLive series. I might have to check some of those out.

As for your comments…it is interesting how unrefined they were back in the day and how for some shows they just sounded flat. I’m on dmbstream.com all the time (they have a ton of fan recordings all the way back to 1991) and noticed that they were just a little “off” in some shows.

“Jimi Thing” was in its prime back in the day. I love those old ‘Roi solos. And the 2007 summer sampler is unique but I just can’t get into “Shotgun” or the 2007 “Sweet Up & Down” (can’t beat the 2000 versions though). That “AB intro” and “Some Devil” are fantastic versions of those tuns though, especially “Some Devil” given the full band involvement. And it is a travesty that DMB never recorded “Blue Water”.

And reading about DC, I am totally thinking that we need to mee up with the girls there. Some year, when we can both do it, how cool would that be? I have been wanting to go there too!
