About Us

jon-and-jenJon – I am 29 years old, parent to two beautiful daughters and husband to my beautiful wife for almost 9 years now. I’m a meteorologist, working for a private forecasting company in the southern Suburbs of Minneapolis, MN. I have lots of hobbies. I love sports, especially Hockey and the Detroit Red Wings. I’m also a big video gamer. I play my XBox 360 as often as I can get to it. Of course with two daughters, that time is used playing with dolls and having tea parties instead. :)

Jen – Jen is a stay at home mom right now, taking care of Chloe and the newborn, Courtney. She loves to scrapbook, again, when she can. Taking care of an active 4 yo and a newborn can take up a lot of time.

My cute daughters

Chloe – Chloe is in pre-preschool right now, going on Tuesdays and Thursdays every week. She loves seeing her friends and going to school. She loves to watch movies, play with her dolls, and color.

Courtney – Courtney loves to eat, sleep, and poop. :) She has been smiling and laughing like crazy lately and she has been finally sleeping at night as well.

    Hi Jon,

I’m Shawn, Penn State Student Meteorologist scheduled to graduate in May 2010. I have a website (A huge work in progress) which is a collection of up-to-date weather information. A friend here at PSU pointed out your site with “Weather Animator” and would like to add a link/snapshot to my website. Full Credit will be acknowledged to you with a link to your dejongonline homepage (like the other links/maps on the site). It would be placed under the “meteorologist page” as soon as i get things back up with it. (in the middle of a 2nd phase of remodeling the site).

Please let me know what you think. Look forward to hearing from you. It’s also nice to chat with people from my own field.

    -Shawn

Shawn – Thanks for visiting the site! Glad you like the Weather Animator. I find it to be very useful when looking at model images that aren’t necessarily easily viewed on their parent site (i.e. NCEP).

By all means add a link/snapshot to your site!

Looks like you could get some good snow with this system coming through. Stay Safe!
